Update: William made it out of surgery and is now at his foster home. His scar is huge but looks really nice and tight. There is not much swelling at all. In addition to William's amputation he also came with very bad diarrhea, vomiting and an ear infection. So William is on a regiment of 13 pills a day, a Fetinal patch for pain, special EN diet and one every other day ear washes. He's a mess, but he's alive, and his is soaking up the love and attention!

Sir William was the victim of animal cruelty and was recently removed from his home and placed in a shelter. While we don't know the details of what happened, we do know that William lost his foot, has a severe infection and is now in need of a full leg amputation because his wounds were left untreated.
NCBR has pulled William from the shelter and he is undergoing surgery today. The cost for his amputation and aftercare will be about $1,500, but it will be well worth it to save this little boy's life and give him another chance to see what real love and compassion is. Our Mission: Leave No Boxer Behind.
NorCal Boxer Rescue provides a temporary sanctuary for Boxers in need throughout California. Boxers come to us from shelters and from owners who are no longer able to care for them. We provide these animals with veterinary care, spay/neuter surgeries, vaccinations, a microchip, a temporary foster home at a private residence, lots of love, and placement into a carefully screened home forever.
NCBR is a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that is run entirely by a dedicated group of volunteers who have an unmatched love for preserving this wonderful breed. If you have a heart for animals, we invite you get involved in whatever capacity you can.
