Other Info: Imagine all those great things about boxers - funny, silly, loving, beautiful, happy, athletic, energetic - and wrap all those in a spunky little 45-pound reverse brindle package and you've got Wanda. What a little sweetheart. Wanda is such a gorgeous girl. Reverse brindle so she almost looks completely black except for a few little brown strips here and there and of course a gorgeous white flash from her nose to between her eyes and white gloves on all her paws. Wanda's a perfect size because she's small enough to still be a lap dog (you can't help but snuggle with her!) but she's still able to give my girl, who's a good 15-pounds heavier, a run for her money. Wanda minds pretty well however she does have a few adolescent boxer moments where she can act like the real teenager that she is. For that, we'd suggest some training classes but we have no doubt she pass any puppy class with flying colors since she loves treats and wants to please. That usually makes a good training combination.
Wanda would probably benefit from being in a house that has a regular routine, not too crazy a place. It took her a little while to figure out what was going on when she came to our house from another foster home. But now that she's figured out there's a routine, she seems more able to adapt to changes should some occur. It's usually wake up, eat, outside, play with Sadie, sleep, try and get Sadie to play some more, fail at that, sleep, Mom and Dad get home, get let into the house, sleep, eat, play with Mom and Dad, cratetime means goodnight. Wanda goes into her crate on her own at night but she doesn't choose to go in there during the day.
Another reason why a routine would be good for Wanda right now is that she's dealing with some Irritable Bowel Syndrome. She's on a prescription diet that smells like soy sauce, but she loves the food and gobbles it up and has been steadily progressing since she's gotten here. To keep from having her symptoms increase or recur, Wanda will need to have a home with a backyard or access to a potty area so she can let herself out if needed. But she's got such a great spirit and so much spunk, you wouldn't ever tell from looking at her that she's got a poopie problem. I don't think she even notices. Wanda is such a sweet girl who we know will just mature into a wonderful furkid for any family.
