A recent valuable addition to the NorCal Boxer Rescue team, Amber began volunteering in November 2006 and has already given immense amounts of time toward transporting dogs, visiting potential adopters' homes, doggie-sitting for other foster homes, and helping out at Pet Fairs. She heard about NCBR after meeting President Amy's husband on a jogging trail near their home. He shared with her the work that NCBR is doing, and she started volunteering immediately! Her favorite part about working with NCBR is being able to help save a dog's life and hearing the stories of our boxers finding their forever homes.
Having a tender heart toward animals, Amber wishes that more dogs were given routine veterinary care to help prevent some of the problems we see commonly; namely, heartworm, fleas, and illnesses from not being vaccinated. "It's so sad to see dogs in pain because of a human's lack of knowledge. Also, dogs require a commitment and more than just food and water," she remarks.
Amber is guardian to a handsome male boxer, Jaxon (almost 2 years old), and a female tabby cat, Lilly, and makes her home in Richardson, Texas. Between coming to the rescue of needy boxers and working full-time, she spends her free time with friends, family and boyfriend, Coy.
