I started doing Boxer Rescue in Florida in 2001. I got my first Boxer, Sadie, that same year from a friend of mine that bred their Boxer with another neighborhood Boxer. Obviously, this was before I knew about rescue and all the animals sitting in shelters. Immediately I fell in love with my Sadie and the breed in general. Through research and meeting other people owned by Boxers, I discovered rescue. Now I am addicted. I started out with pulling dogs from shelters, transporting them to their foster homes or new forever homes and helping with various fund raisers and pet fairs. After I bought my fist house here in Texas (and I mean just a month after buying my first house), I also started fostering. It is so rewarding to see these dogs, once unwanted and neglected, grow into the healthy, happy dogs that they deserve to be! It is hard to let them go after you bond with them for weeks or even months. But I just have to tell myself that if I don't let them go, then I can't save the next one sitting in the shelter. If you can open your heart and home to a rescued Boxer, by either adoption or fostering, please contact us today! You will find it is well worth it:)
