My name is Jennifer and I have 2 male plain fawn 3 year old boxers! I was introduced to the wonderful boxer breed about 3 years ago. I did not know about rescue, so of course, I got my first boxer through a breeder. Fortunately, Barkley has no health issues and they did a great job in breeding. When Barkley turned a year, I knew it was time for him to have a playmate. That is when I turned to rescue, December 2003. I found NCBR through a search engine, went to a pet fair and saw all the wiggly babies in need. I was torn and could not decide. Amy advised me to foster...that was the best decison I think I have ever made! :) My first foster, Rudy came to me the 1st week of January 2004 extremely emaciated. He was so sick and weak, that Barkley took over being Mama and actually brought food to his bed so Rudy would save his energy to sleep and get better! At that point, I just knew Rudy would be a permanent member of our family! I have continued to foster 1-2 boxers since I doubled my pack and have become a very active member with NBCR. Volunteering is the most rewarding acts of kindness that I could imagine. I never knew if I would find my passion, calling in life....but when I was introduced to the boxer breed....it hit me right there - to save the boxer! If you ever think you can't save the world - you are wrong! If you don't try - you will never know!
