Midnight has been with us for a week now.  We are having so much fun with her.  I took her for a 4 mile walk at the lake over the weekend and to a vacant yard to play fetch.  She was very tired but after a crate nap, she was ready to go again.  I am laughing a lot with her around.  She loves her toys and likes to fling them across the room and carry them around.  She really likes her rawhides too.  The cats don't like her yet but that will just take time.  She has gotten so much attention from everyone.  People get off their bikes at the lake and cars pull up when I have her in the car to ask me about her.  Not surprising since she is a very good looking dog.  We are taking her on her first camping trip this weekend.  I ordered her a Fido Fleece since it might get down to the 30s.  She is so spoiled!  She is a beautiful girl and we are so glad that she is in our life.  Thank you NCBR!

Carter - Just wanted to let you know how it went last night.  We first took him over to my house to meet Bella.  She was so excited and wouldn't stop "hugging" him.  He is VERY tolerant of her and never once snapped at her or got ugly with her.  In fact he started playing back with her when he realized that he wouldn't hurt her.  I think he was a little hesitant at first b/c she is still small.

Dad said that when he took him home he investigated the entire house and was really taken with the grandfather clock.  Everytime it would chime he would run up to it and stand in front of it turning his head.  My parents have a huge bronze boxer statue that they got in New Orleans (it is about 4 feet tall and it is HUGE).....dad said that he kept running around it and under it and smelling it and looking at it all night.  He said that when it was time to go to bed (their bedroom is upstairs)...he didn't understand the stairs!  He said he had an easy time getting up them, but coming down confused him.  He immediately jumped on their bed about five times and then dad had to "explain" to him that his bed was the fluffy thing on the floor beside their bed.  He said once he figured that out, he slept all night.  He is spending the day at my house with the psycho woman, so I am sure they will be really tired tonight!!  He really is a precious angel and now my husband wants to trade Bella for Carter with my parents.  Thanks again for all that you did and we will definitely keep you posted in the future!!!  I will get some pics of the two of them to send to you once I can get them to be still long enough!

Hi its Jimmy Wright and as you guys know I adopted Spot on Saturday and I thought I would give you guys an update. Spot is the best dog I have ever been around he gets in NO trouble, except he did try to drink out of the toliet but only did that once. He goes on anywhere between 4-6 walks a day around the apartment complex hes not much of a runner though but he does like to walk. He sleeps basically the rest of the day, and when hes not sleeping he follows me around everywhere even when hes eating he will grab a mouth full of food and come over to me and eat it then go back for another mouth full and come back until the bowl is empty. When I do take him on walks it cracks me up because people alwayyyyyyyyyyys have to make comments about how good spot looks I hear "thats a beautiful dog" about 4 times day also when cars drive by im not kidding they will basically stop and stare at him, its a little awkward some times. The only negative thing about spot but hes getting a little better about is he does not like being crated it is a little battle to try to get him to go into his crate which is weird because the foster mom said he likes it I dont know maybe I spoiled him already. He's also not much into raw hide or toys thats not really a bad thing i guess because it saves me money.

Thank you

Jimmy

It is hard to believe that one month has already passed since we adopted

Haylee.  And yet, it is as if she has always been a part of our family. Here is a picture taken last week of Haylee and Zeus (her new brother)snuggling on their big pillow after breakfast.  Haylee is fitting injust fine.

The two of them play all the time and are very sweet together, as this picture shows. She is attending the weekly Intermediate Training class with Zeus and is a quick study.  Our trainer is amazed at how quickly Haylee is progessing considering that she never attended the Basic Puppy class.  But we work with her at home, making a game out of learning and they both enjoy it very much. She has been to the vet for her wellness checkup and is doing fine.  We weigh her each week to monitor her progress.  She is steadily gaining weight at a healthy pace.  She currently weighs 38 1/2 pounds. Although Zeus is much larger than she is, she is able to hold her own with him.  Being smaller and quicker, she can run circles around him, litterally.  He is also very protective of her.  When we go for our daily walk, if she shows any signs of stress, he immediately puts himself on the outside of her, putting her next to me.  He is a good big brother. They are so cute together and we get compliments on them all the time.  We are truly blessed to have them both and want to thank NorCal Boxer Rescue for caring enough to rescue Haylee.  She is happy and content in her

Forever Home. For us, the feeling is mutual.

Warmest Regards,

Kathi Howard Kerry Varnado, Zeus and Haylee

Hi Ladies,

Per your request, here are a couple of pics of Rosie and me.   She is doing great and she has become such an important part of my life.  When I began fostering her in June I tried not to fall in love with her thinking that the arrangement would be temporary.  Obviously, it is no longer temporary.  Within a few weeks of taking her in I became quite fond of her.  She has such a gentle spirit and a loving personality.  I know it is difficult to find homes for older dogs but there are so many advantages to adopting these wonderful animals; no potty training, no crying at night, no chewed up shoes or furniture.   Rosie has proved to be an easy addition to my life and is no trouble.  She and I are settled into a very comfortable routine.

I'm glad she is a part of my life and I'm so proud that I was able to offer her a forever home.  Thank you for all you do for the Boxers and I will definitely stay in touch and do what I can to help the cause.

Sincerely,

Rosie's New Daddy (Michael)

Just wanted to let you know that Brady and Roxy act like they've known each other forever and he's doing a great job of keeping her busy.  His personality really seems to be coming out more today (whenever he's not sleeping) .  You weren't kidding about him loving his treats!  He sits down and starts blowing spit bubbles whenever he sees me get one out.  This is something Roxy's never done and it cracks me up!  He's only tried to mark the couch once since we've been home and I was able to catch him as soon as he lifted his leg.  All it took was a hand clap and a sharp "uh-uh" and he hightailed it for the back door.  Now, whenever he hears Roxy ring her bell to go outside, he gets up and follows her out, so I don't think it'll be very long before we can trust him.  Feeding time has been interesting.  They each seem to want to eat out of the other's bowl, so they spend the entire time switching bowls back and forth. It's pretty funny to watch. Anyway, everything's going really well, they're both passed out, and I'm enjoying the peace and quiet.  Thanks again, to you and your wonderful family, for loving him for us.  I look forward to sending occasional updates.  Feel free to check up on him whenever you like.

Sincerely,
Charity

We adopted Toby (right) in April. He and Mandi (left) have become such wonderful buddies. He has been such a blessing to our home and our family. Currently, we do not have any kids, so Toby and Mandi are our babies. We would like to say thank you to the Norcal Boxer Rescue and a special thank you to Matt and Katie for allowing us to bring Toby into our family. May God bless each of you for all that you do to help our "Boxer Babies".

God Bless,
Rachel Hayes

Polar and Tysons foster moms had one New years wish, that these two buddies were placed into a home together. We got our wish and couldnt be more happy. This was the best way to start this new year.

Hello Everyone,

Glory is doing wonderful, terrific, fantastic, etc.  I could go on and on.   She is truly an exceptional dog and we are honored to have her.  We can never thank you all enough for all for your efforts.  We are getting her micro-chipped on Saturday and will get her heart worm meds then.  If we left her old collar there would you be able to get it?  We would like to return it because we know you will put it to good use.  Thanks for posting our picture, we are very proud.  Can you email us a copy?  We would really appreciate it.

Thanks,
The Heidemanns
