Angus

Sad news to share about Angus. Unfortunately, his test results came back positive yesterday for distemper. This is a vaccination that costs less than $10 but for whatever reason his previous owners didn't give it to him. With his rapidly deteriorating condition and no cure for distempter, we decided the best thing for him was to be euthanized.

He broke my heart the first time I saw him at the shelter
and took this photo. He looked so scared. He seemed healthy when we first brought him home, just a little under weight. Unfortunately he deteriorated from 40 to 33 pounds rather quickly. Even though he was sick, he would occasionally make an effort to play with his foster sisters, bark when the doorbell rang and even howled at the plumber once. We only had him for a month, but were already growing attached to him. I just hope we made his life a little better in the short time he was with us. He will be missed.

You will be missed, baby boy! :(

Charlie Chaplin

I just wanted to let you all know that we had to make the very painful and sad decision to help Charlie Chaplin to the Rainbow Bridge.  My heart is broken and he is sorely missed in this house, but I know we did right by him.  Dr Scott believes that Charlie's distemper had started to resurface.  This was causing him to have attacks several times per day over the last couple of weeks.  When he went through these episodes, he was not the little Charlie Chaplin that I knew and loved.  He was out of his mind.   Charlie was with me from Oct 28, 2006 through June 1st 2007.  In that time he made so many improvements and crossed so many milestones.  I do believe that he was truly happy during this time in his life.  And I know for sure that he was very loved!  He is happy and healthy now and waiting for me at the bridge.  I just want everyone to remember him for the very special boy he was.  I put together a slide show of his life with me.  Please say a little prayer for him.

Thank you, Charlie's foster mom,
Holly G
