Adoption Requirements

  • All current pets in the household MUST be spayed/neutered, current on vaccinations and heartworm preventative. We will contact your veterinarian to verify this information.
  • You must be 21 years of age and living independently. We do not adopt to students.
  • If you live in a single family home, you must have a fenced in yard.
  • All children in the home must be over the age of 5.
  • We will not place female Boxers in homes with other female dogs.
  • We do not adopt out dogs as gifts.
  • All pets are INDOOR companions.

Adoption Fees

Our adoption fees range from $175 - $350 depending on a variety of factors. Please refer to each individual dog's profile for a specific amount.

All adoption donations include a comprehensive health exam, current vaccinations, heartworm test, fecal, spay/neuter surgery, a microchip and flea/tick/heartworm preventative (while the dogs are in our care).

Please remember that the adoption donation is not for the purchase of a dog, but rather to cover the medical cost of all dogs in our care. Your donation is also tax deductible.

The average, healthy Boxer is in foster care for 3 months.

The average cost to NCBR during this time is over $360.

1 in 3 Boxers in our program requires treatment for heartworms
at an additional average cost of $220.

NCBR's adoption fee is rarely enough to cover the
costs of the average, healthy dog.

*NCBR dogs are kept current on heartworm preventative and given flea//tick protection (when needed) while they are in our care. Adopters are responsible for purchasing these items from their veterinarian after the adoption has been finalized.
